Masskara Festival 2008: Race Race Race
I know that this is kind of late already but then I just can't help but blog about the recent Masskara Festival. The festival started on the first day of October and ended on October 19 which is also Bacolod City's Charter Anniversary. It was a one of a kind celebration wherein people from different walks of life gathered and partied like there's no tomorrow. The two-week celebration was filled with different activities which was heavily attended by locals and tourists alike.
The old airport was again opened but this time cars were seen speeding down the runway. It was the 1st PALumba sa Masskara and I could really say that it was a success. Many spectators brave the sizzling heat of the sun as they cheer for their favorite drag racers crossing the finish line. The said event lasted for 3 days and thank goodness the weather was very favorable.
On the other side of town, another type of race was unfolding. Instead of flat concrete, the race track was a pure dirt riddled with deep holes and steep humps. This is the 4x4 Off-Road Challenge held at the vacant lot behind Robinson's Place Bacolod. It was a site to behold as man and machine struggle to get the best time.
Here are some more pics of those two events..
